2006 Club Championships
|
The Finals of the 2006 Kiama Club Championships was held on Sunday 26th November, 2006 and was enjoyed by a small and appreciative tennis-loving group of players and supporters.
Thanks to all those hard working clubbies who provided food and drink and helped to provide a successful Finals Day.
The lead up to the final day was carried out during November when some tough tennis was played in both the Seniors and the Juniors to see which players would remain supreme.
Seniors
The Senior's finals were extremely exciting and saw Joe up against a determined and at times acrobatic Frank in the Singles . Joe had to fight all the way to take out the match and remain 2006 Kiama Club Champion...congratulations Joe!
The Doubles were a hard fought match between Joe & Shaun and Frank paired with Bob. Again an extremely exciting and close encounter with Joe and Bob just edging out Frank and Shaun. The huge crowd on the hill were enthralled by the awesome efforts by the foursome.
Juniors
Div 1 Boys:
Final was taken out by Daniel over a determined Ryan with both boys hammer and tonging it over 2 hard fought sets...well done Daniel.
Div 2 Boys:
Final pitted Travis against Ben. A wonderful match with many long rallies and great skill shown by the boys. Travis prevailed...great effort boys!
Div 1 Girls:
Final between Kirsten and Hannah was also a tough affair with Kirsten's extra guile winning the day in an extremely close match...congratulations girls!
We are now looking forward to next year's Championships and are already in the planning mode...
